देवताओं में सर्वश्रेष्ठ और अग्रपूज्य गणेश जी को माना गया है इसका क्या कारण है?

अनेक लोगों का यही प्रश्न होता है कि अनेक सुंदर और शक्तिशाली देवता होते हुए भी प्रथम पूज्य श्री गणेश जी क्यों है? सूर्य से हमें रोशनी प्राप्त होती है।  इंद्र देवता वर्षा करके हमारी खेती में सहायता करते हैं पवन देव समस्त जीवधारियों के प्राण रक्षक है। फिर गणेश जी की प्रथम पूजा क्यों होती है।

एक पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार प्राचीन काल में एक बार देवताओं में यह विवाद छिड़ गया कि हम हमें सर्वश्रेष्ठ कौन है सभी देवता अपने अपने को श्रेष्ठ बता रहे थे इस तरह कोई निर्णय ना हो सका। अंत में यह निश्चित हुआ कि जो देवता तीनों लोगों की सबसे पहले परिक्रमा करके यहां पहुंचेगा वहीं सर्वश्रेष्ठ माना जाएगा तथा वहीं मनुष्यों में प्रथम पूज्य होगा। यह सुनकर सभी देवता अपने अपने वाहनों पर बैठकर तीनों लोकों की परिक्रमा करने चल पड़े। बुद्धि में तेज श्री गणेश वहीं रुक कर सोचने लगे वे वहां से चलकर उस स्थान पर गए जहां उनके माता-पिता बैठे हुए थे उन्होंने अपने माता पिता शिव पार्वती की तीन परिक्रमा ए लगाकर वापस वहीं पर आ गए तथा सभापति के आसन पर विराजमान हो गए अन्य देवताओं में सर्वप्रथम अपने वाहन पर मयूर पर आकर कार्तिकेय जी तीनों लोकों की परिक्रमा करके आ गए परंतु श्रीगणेश को सभापति के आसन पर विराजमान देखकर क्रोधित हो गए उन्होंने क्रोध अवस्था में अपने मुकद्दर का प्रहार श्री गणेश पर किया जिससे श्री गणेश का 2 दंतो में से एकदंत टूट गया तभी से वे एकदंत कहलाए जाने लगे। इसके पश्चात श्री गणेश जी ने सब देवताओं के समक्ष अपना तर्क प्रस्तुत करते हुए कहा कि तीनों लोगों की सुख संपदा माता पिता के चरणों में विराजित होती है माता पिता की चरण सेवा ही सर्वोपरि है जो व्यक्ति अपने माता पिता के चरणों को छोड़कर तीनों लोगों का भ्रमण करता फिरता है उसका सारा परिश्रम व्यर्थ चला जाता है। मैं श्री गणेश जी मैं जो विशेषताएं हैं यदि मानव उन्हें ग्रहण कर ले तो वह भी अपने समाज में प्रथम बन जाएगा भगवान गणेश का मस्तक हमें लाभप्रद विचार ग्रहण करने की प्रेरणा देता है उनके बड़े बड़े कान उत्तम विचारों को सुनने की प्रेरणा प्रदान करते हैं नीचे की ओर लटकी सूंड खतरों को सूखने की प्रेरणा देती है एक दांत से वचनबद्धता तथा दो छोटी छोटी आंखें ध्यान मग्नता की ओर संकेत करती है। मोटा पेट पाचन शक्ति और धैर्य ता का प्रतीक है। विघ्नों के विनाश हेतु हाथ में फरसा तथा मानव कल्याण के लिए वर्द   धारण किए है। उपरोक्त गुण अन्य देवताओं में नहीं पाए जाते और अन्य पुराणों में तो इसका और कारण भी बताया गया है

Ganesha is considered the best and foremost among the gods, what is the reason for this?

 Many people have the same question that despite being many beautiful and powerful gods, why is Shri Ganesh the first worshiper?  We get light from the sun.  The God of Indra helps in our cultivation by rain and the wind is the life-saver of all living beings.  Then why is Ganesha first worshiped.

 According to a legend, once in ancient times, there was a dispute among the gods that we are the best of all, all the gods were calling themselves superior, thus no decision could be made.  In the end, it was decided that the deity which will reach here after first circling the three people, will be considered the best and there will be first worship among humans.  Hearing this, all the gods sat on their own vehicles and went around the three worlds.  Bright in wisdom, Mr. Ganesh stopped there and started thinking that he went from there to the place where his parents were sitting.  Among the other gods, Karthikeya ji came first on his vehicle on a peacock orbiting the three worlds, but was enraged upon seeing Shree Ganesha seated on the seat of the Speaker, he struck his crown in a state of anger on Shri Ganesh which caused Shri Ganesh in 2 teeth.  He broke the monologue since then he started being called Ekadanta.  After this, Shri Ganesh Ji presented his argument before all the gods and said that the happiness and wealth of all the three people is entrenched at the feet of the parents, the step service of the parents is the paramount person who leaves the feet of his parents.  All his hard work goes in vain while traveling.  The characteristics of Shri Ganesh ji, if a human being accepts them, he will also become the first in his society, Lord Ganesha's forehead inspires us to receive beneficial thoughts. His big ears provide inspiration to listen to the best ideas below.  The trunk hanging towards it inspires to dry up the dangers; Commitment with one tooth and two small eyes indicates meditation.  Fat belly is a symbol of digestive power and patience.  He has worn an ax in his hand for destruction of obstacles and a ward for human welfare.  The above qualities are not found in other gods and in other Puranas, the reason for this is also given.
