परमात्मा एक है या अनेक?

परमात्मा एक है या अनेक? क्या विष्णु और शिव में भेद है?

परमात्मा के अनेक रूप है जैसे ब्रह्मा विष्णु शिव इंद्र यम दुर्गा आदि। यह भक्तों की भावना के ऊपर निर्भर करता है कोई विष्णु के रूप में परमात्मा की पूजा करता है तो कोई शिव के रूप में। किसी स्थान पर भक्त परमात्मा को दुर्गा रूप में पूजते हैं तो कहीं काली के रूप में। कहने का तात्पर्य है कि परमात्मा एक है और उसके रूप अनेक है।

शिव और विष्णु एक दूसरे के पूरक है विष्णु के अवतार भगवान श्रीराम ने रामेश्वर मैं सागर पुल बांधने हेतु सागर तट पर बालू का शिवलिंग बनाकर उनकी पूजा की थी। इसी प्रकार भस्मासुर दैत्य का अंत करने के लिए विष्णु जी ने पार्वती का रूप धारण कर शिव जी की सहायता की थी। विष्णु जी शिव जी की स्तुति करते रहते हैं तथा शिवजी विष्णु जी की स्तुति करते रहते हैं और विष्णु जी के ध्यान मगन रहते हैं। इस प्रकार दोनों में ना कोई छोटा है ना बड़ा और ना इनमें कोई भेद है। जो भक्त इन में भेद करेगा तो उसका कभी कल्याण नहीं हो सकता।

 Is God One or Many?

 Is God One or Many?  Is there a difference between Vishnu and Shiva?

 There are many forms of God like Brahma Vishnu Shiva Indra Yama Durga etc.  It depends on the spirit of the devotees, some worship God as Vishnu and some as Shiva.  At some place, the devotees worship God as Durga and elsewhere as Kali.  It means to say that God is one and its forms are many.

 Shiva and Vishnu are complementary to each other, Lord Shriram, the incarnation of Vishnu, worshiped him by making a Shiva lingam of sand on the ocean shore to build the Sagar Bridge at Rameshwar.  Similarly, to end the Bhasmasura monster, Lord Vishnu took the form of Parvati and helped Shiva.  Vishnu ji keeps praising Shiva ji and Shiva ji praising Vishnu ji and meditating on Vishnu ji.  Thus, there is no difference between the two and neither is there any difference between them.  A devotee who makes a distinction between them can never be benefited.
