लोग पीपल के वृक्ष की पूजा क्यों करते हैं?

पीपल का वृक्ष सब वृक्षों में पवित्र वृक्ष माना गया है। हिंदुओं की धार्मिक आस्था के अनुसार भगवान विष्णु का पीपल के वृक्ष में निवास है। श्रीमद भगवद गीता में स्वयं भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने बताया है कि वृक्षों में मैं पीपल हूं। स्कंद पुराण में बताया गया है कि पीपल की जड़ में विष्णु जी तन्ने में केशव कृष्ण जी शाखाओं में नारायण पत्तों में भगवान हरि और फलों में समस्त देवताओं का निवास है

आपको यह जानकर आश्चर्य होगा कि संसार में केवल पीपल का ही पेड़ ऐसा है जो 24 घंटे दिन हो या रात ऑक्सीजन छोडता रहता है जो प्राण धारियों के लिए प्राणवायु कही जाती है। प्रत्येक प्राणी ऑक्सीजन ग्रहण करता है और कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड छोड़ता है। इस गुण के अतिरिक्त इसकी छाया जाड़ों में गर्मी देती है और ग्रीष्म ऋतु में शीतलता प्रदान करती है पीपल के पत्तों का स्पर्श होने पर वायु में संक्रामक वायरस नष्ट हो जाते हैं

Why do people worship the Peepal tree?

 Peepal tree is considered as the sacred tree among all trees.  According to the religious belief of Hindus, Lord Vishnu resides in the Peepal tree.  In the Srimad Bhagavad-gītā, Lord Sri Krishna himself has said that I am a Peepal in trees.  It is told in Skanda Purana that Vishnu ji in the root of Peepal, Keshava Krishna ji in the stem, Lord Hari in Narayana leaves in branches and all the gods in fruits are inhabited.

 You will be surprised to know that the only peepal tree in the world is such that it leaves oxygen for 24 hours day or night, which is said to be a life for the souls.  Each animal takes oxygen and releases carbon dioxide.  In addition to this property, its shade gives warmth in winter and provides coolness in summer, infectious viruses are destroyed in air when touch of peepal leaves.
